Comrade Chinedu Onwuadike, popularly known as Charemon, has emerged the newly elected Student Union Government (SUG) President of the Federal College of Education (Technical), Umunze (FCET), with 155 votes, defeating his closest rival, Comrade Ezenwa Peter Chibugo who garnerd 44 votes.
The Students Electoral Committee of the Federal College of Education (Technical), Umunze (FCET), while announcing the results of the SUG election conducted in the university campus this January, said the election was peaceful as the exercise went on smoothly.
With a margin of over 100 votes, Chinedu Onwuadike, clinched the Students’ Union President seat from his main opposition, Ezenwa Peter Chibugo.
Comrade Onwuadike, a 300 level student of the department of Education Management and Policies will serve as the Students Union President for the 2022/2023 academic session.
The election which held at the Institutions’ Auditorium Arena and took the option A4 mode of voting was monitored openly by members of the Electoral Committee, headed by the Dean, Students’ Affairs, Dr. Dave Okoli, electoral observers from NANS, agents, security operatives and press men, was adjudged free and fair with the loosing candidates conceding defeat and congratulating the winners.
The voting exercise, which lasted 6hours, 13 minutes, was acceded to be free and fair by security operatives, agents of all candidates, NANS observers and Management representatives present at the venue.

Comrade Ekwem Jonathan Uzochukwu – Public Relations Officer.

In his victory speech, Comrade Onwuadike, said the election was only a friendly contest as there is no victor or looser. He urged his opponents to come and join hands with him in government. He pleaded with them to bring their ideas and join with he’s, adding that he is open to work with everyone to achieve successful administration for the overall good of the students.
The election was followed by a Thanksgiving Service, led by all the newly elected student leaders at the CKC Chaplaincy, Umunze where they thanked God for a successful election.
