Movie Review: For Different Strokes, the message hit home, excellent delivery!

Mosun Filani-Oduoye new flick, which doubles as her first cinema movie, ‘Different  Strokes’, was indeed a good outing for her, but!

“Different Strokes” features Nollywood stars like Mercy Johnson  Okojie, Shaffy Bello, Jim Iyke, Adedimeji Lateef, Deyemi Okanlawon,  Etim Effiong, Jide Kosoko, Lilian Esoro, Prince Harida, Bukunmi  Adeaga–Ilori, Blessing Jessica Obasi, Emem Ufot, Lilian Afegbai and  Mosun Oduoye.

The movie is about four friends with one goal; Happy Marriage, but achieving it will take more than just having a common goal.

Just like the name, Different Strokes hits on the impossibility of having all things in life sorted out. One man’s meat, they say, is another’s poison.

Different Strokes shines a light on how imperfect couples in marriages could be and how wishing to be like others could as well land you in serious trouble. All that glitters are not gold.

Although the story is not unique, and the next scene is quite predictable, the seasoned actors made that forgivable.

The delivery was top-notch. You can’t take away excellent role interpretations from veteran actors, they know their onions even when presented with a boring script.

Mercy Johnson, Jim Iyke and Lillian Esoro brought their best game on, likewise others.

The sound and locations are on point too.

However, what’s with the pregnancy look on Blessing Jessica Obasi, and the make-up-on fleek look of Lilian Afegbai on the bed even after making out with her lover?

If you want to see Different Strokes, don’t expect to be thrilled with suspense or a beautiful new story, zero your mind into watching your favourite actors amaze you.

6/10 is our rating for Different Strokes.
