Tinubu Spent His First One Year Studying Buhari’s Failures, Give Him More Time – Bode George Begs Nigerians

Bode George, a prominent figure in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), stated on Friday that President Bola Tinubu spent his first year in office analyzing and understanding the shortcomings of the previous administration led by former President Muhammadu Buhari.

Despite his critique, George expressed optimism that Tinubu’s administration would address and rectify the deficiencies left by Buhari’s tenure within the next year.

During his appearance on Arise TV’s program, The Morning Show, George noted that Tinubu’s lack of direct experience in the presidency justifies a period of adjustment.

He referenced former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s initial period of acclimation when he first took office, suggesting that such a transition time is necessary for anyone assuming the presidency for the first time.

George elaborated, stating, “Tinubu had never served at that level before. While it’s true that he was involved with the party (APC) that formed the previous government under Buhari, it’s a vastly different challenge to take over and lead the administration himself.

“To be honest, I believe he needed this one-year period to study and understand the failures of the past administration. I’ve afforded him this one year of grace because he needed to experience and comprehend the situation firsthand.

“I anticipate that his ministers will have identified the areas of concern within this year. Even when Olusegun Obasanjo became president in 1999, he spent his first year trying to grasp what had transpired. We should extend the same patience to Tinubu and allow him more time,” He concluded.
