A prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Hon. Chukwuebuka Obidike, has strongly criticized the recent allegations leveled against Seyi Tinubu, the son of Nigeria’s President, concerning the alleged assault and abduction of Comrade Atiku Isah, President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS).
Speaking in an exclusive interview with our correspondent, Obidike firmly described the claims as unfounded, malicious, and part of a calculated attempt to damage Seyi Tinubu’s reputation and discredit his longstanding philanthropic initiatives.
“I find it extremely disturbing that Comrade Atiku Isah would go to such great lengths to implicate Seyi Tinubu in a matter he is completely uninvolved in,” Obidike stated. “Seyi Tinubu is a patriotic Nigerian who has continually championed youth empowerment and contributed meaningfully to national development. Associating him with acts of violence is not only false but deeply unjust and malevolent.”
Obidike, who is also the Chairman of Clarivo Oil & Gas Limited, highlighted Tinubu’s impactful work in grassroots development and unwavering commitment to the welfare of the less privileged, especially in Northern Nigeria. He insisted that such commendable efforts should not be overshadowed by what he described as “cheap blackmail” and “ill-motivated attacks” orchestrated by the NANS leadership.
He went on to suggest that the allegations form part of a broader political scheme aimed at eroding the goodwill and widespread support Seyi Tinubu enjoys among young people in the North, particularly with the 2027 presidential election on the horizon.
Calling on law enforcement agencies to launch a thorough and impartial investigation into the incident, Obidike urged Comrade Isah and NANS leadership to return their focus to true student representation and the pursuit of meaningful educational reforms. He warned against allowing the organization to become a tool for political vendettas.
Reaffirming his loyalty and support for Seyi Tinubu, Obidike concluded by stating that no amount of intimidation or character assassination would derail Tinubu’s mission to uplift the youth and continue making a significant impact across the country.
