BREAKING: APGA National Chairman, Barr. Sly Ezeokenwa, Loses Father

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Barrister Sly Ezeokenwa, has lost his beloved father, Chief Sylvester Ezeokenwa. He passed away in the early hours of Friday, May 16, 2025.

The sad development was made public by Mrs. Amara Sly-Ezeokenwa, wife of the APGA National Chairman, through an emotional post on her official Facebook page. In the tribute, she praised her late father-in-law for the remarkable life he lived, the values he upheld, and the lasting legacy he left behind.

Chief Sylvester Ezeokenwa was a respected politician and one of the founding fathers of APGA. He played a pivotal role in the party’s formative years and notably served as the pioneer chairman of APGA in Onitsha South Local Government Area of Anambra State following the party’s establishment in 2002.

Fondly known as “Ezeudo”, a chieftaincy title conferred on him in his hometown of Umuchu, Chief Ezeokenwa was widely regarded as a man of peace, integrity, and wisdom. Testimonials from community members and associates consistently describe him as a man of noble character, whose life inspired many and whose leadership style earned him immense respect.

He is survived by his wife, siblings, children, including the APGA National Chairman, and grandchildren.

As at the time of this report, Barr. Sly Ezeokenwa has not yet released an official statement regarding the passing of his father.
