Detailed Rephrased Report:
Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has issued a strong warning to all intending pilgrims traveling to Saudi Arabia for the 2025 Hajj, cautioning them against carrying prohibited items—particularly narcotic drugs—whose possession attracts the death penalty in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
He emphasized that anyone caught in possession of such banned substances would have only themselves to blame, noting that the consequences are severe and non-negotiable. He advised pilgrims to be vigilant and avoid being used by unscrupulous and unpatriotic individuals who may attempt to lure them into criminal acts.
Governor Yahaya further appealed to the pilgrims to display a strong sense of patriotism by respecting constituted authorities and strictly adhering to all prescribed guidelines throughout the pilgrimage process. He warned that any act of indiscipline or unruly behavior would not be tolerated and would attract appropriate sanctions.
Meanwhile, the Executive Secretary of the Gombe State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Mr. Saadu Hassan, announced that a total of 957 pilgrims from the state are scheduled to perform this year’s Hajj. He revealed that the first batch, comprising 512 pilgrims, is set to depart on Monday, while the remaining 445 will leave on Tuesday.
Also speaking at the event, the Emir of Dukku and Chairman of the State Pilgrims Board, Alhaji Haruna Rashid II, commended Governor Yahaya for his unwavering support and commitment, which he said contributed significantly to the smooth and efficient organization of the 2025 Hajj operations for the state.
