Justice M. Umar has been moved from the Enugu Judicial Division to the Abuja Judicial Division

In a recent administrative development, several judges across the Nigerian judicial system have been redeployed to new judicial divisions, with immediate effect. The changes, according to an official statement, are part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the efficiency of court operations nationwide.

The affected judges and their new assignments are as follows:

Justice M. Umar has been moved from the Enugu Judicial Division to the Abuja Judicial Division.

Justice Tijjani Ringim is redeployed from the Gombe Division to the Yola Division.

Justice M. Segun-Bello will now serve in the Enugu Division, having been transferred from the Abakaliki Division.

Justice Bala Usman has been reassigned from Yola to the Awka Division.

Justice Amina Mohammed, previously in Awka, will now serve in the Gombe Division.

The statement emphasized that all redeployments are to take immediate effect. Furthermore, the judges have been instructed to prioritize the delivery of all pending judgments in their current jurisdictions and complete them in the shortest time possible.

In the interim, judges who are currently resident in the Abakaliki and Katsina Judicial Divisions have been directed to take full responsibility for all judicial matters—both ongoing and newly filed—within their respective jurisdictions until further notice.

Additionally, in a related adjustment, it was announced that all cases formerly under Court No. 5 in the Abuja Judicial Division will now be handled by the newly assigned judge posted to Abuja.

As a result of this reassignment, litigants and legal representatives are no longer required to apply to the Chief Judge for the reassignment of such cases, as they have automatically been transferred under the authority of the new judge.

The judiciary assures the public of its continued commitment to timely justice delivery and efficient court administration across all divisions.
