A leading governorship aspirant under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Mr. Bola Oyebamiji, has expressed optimism that the party’s forthcoming governorship primary election will be conducted peacefully and in a spirit of brotherhood.
Oyebamiji, who currently serves as the Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), gave this assurance while addressing attendees at an annual prayer session held over the weekend in his hometown of Ikire.
According to him, all aspirants vying for the APC ticket are members of the same progressive political family and are committed to maintaining unity and harmony throughout the primary process. He emphasized that the primary election will not be a battle but a “friendly match” among brothers who share a common vision and ideological foundation.
“As progressives, we are known for peace, harmony, and internal democracy,” he said. “Our primary election will be conducted with unity and ease. Only one person will emerge as the candidate, and all of us will support whoever that is, ensuring our collective victory in the governorship election.”
Oyebamiji also acknowledged the preparedness of the main opposition party in the state, noting that their recent activities indicate a strong momentum. Nevertheless, he affirmed that the APC remains a formidable force, grounded in pro-masses ideologies, integrity, and well-established internal structures.
Speaking further on the importance of the prayer session, Oyebamiji said the annual event is a spiritual tradition aimed at seeking divine intervention for peace and stability in the community, Osun State, and Nigeria at large.
“We believe strongly in the power of prayer, which is why we continue to hold this event annually,” he stated. “We are particularly glad to have had members of the Muslim Ummah from across the world join us today. The turnout was impressive, and we are confident that Allah has answered our prayers for our nation, our state, and our people.”
The prayer session was well-attended, further underscoring the aspirant’s grassroots support and community engagement.
