Former U.S. President Donald Trump has intensified his rhetoric toward Iran, declaring that the United States has achieved “complete and total control” of Iranian airspace. His statements, delivered via his Truth Social platform on Tuesday, have heightened speculation over potential U.S. involvement in the escalating conflict between Israel and Iran.
“We now have complete and total control of the skies over Iran,” Trump wrote, praising the performance of American-made military equipment but notably refraining from directly referencing Israel. “Nobody does it better than the good ol’ USA,” he added, in a post that appeared to underscore U.S. military superiority and growing pressure on Tehran.
In a separate and more provocative message, Trump issued a veiled threat to Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. While confirming that U.S. intelligence knows the cleric’s exact location, Trump stated that no action would be taken — “for now.”
“We know exactly where the so-called ‘Supreme Leader’ is hiding. He is an easy target, but is safe there — We are not going to take him out (kill!), at least not for now,” Trump posted.
The post continued with a stern warning: “But we don’t want missiles shot at civilians, or American soldiers. Our patience is wearing thin. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”
Moments later, Trump followed up with a bold, all-caps demand: “UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER!”—a phrase that fueled growing speculation about a possible shift in U.S. policy and more direct involvement in the Iran-Israel conflict.
This flurry of statements came just after Trump returned prematurely from the G7 summit in Canada late Monday. The urgency of the situation appeared to prompt the early departure, as Trump was scheduled to meet with top U.S. officials in the White House Situation Room on Tuesday to assess the rapidly evolving geopolitical crisis.
Despite these strong-worded posts, Trump has publicly maintained that the United States has not officially joined the hostilities. He has, however, reiterated that Iran still has an opportunity to accept a deal proposed before Israel’s offensive targeting Iran’s leadership and nuclear infrastructure.
Speaking earlier aboard Air Force One on his way back from Canada, Trump expressed a desire for a decisive resolution to the ongoing crisis. “I want a real end, not a ceasefire,” he stated. “I’m not in too much of a mood to negotiate.”
Israel, the United States’ closest ally in the Middle East, recently claimed a similar air superiority over Iranian skies — a position that aligns with Trump’s assertions and signals deepening U.S.-Israeli cooperation.
As diplomatic options dwindle and tensions rise, Trump’s statements suggest that U.S. involvement in the Iran-Israel conflict may be closer than previously assumed.
