The African Democratic Congress (ADC), in collaboration with several other political parties under the Anambra Coalition Stakeholders Forum, convened its inaugural strategic meeting in Awka, Anambra State. The high-level gathering brought together key stakeholders from across the state to chart a new political course ahead of the November 8 gubernatorial election.
At the core of the meeting’s outcome was the unanimous endorsement of Mr. John Nwosu, the ADC’s governorship candidate, as the official flagbearer of the coalition. This endorsement positions Nwosu as the consensus candidate to lead what the group described as a transformative political movement in Anambra.
Speaking at the meeting, Nwosu hailed the event as a landmark moment in the ADC’s commitment to restoring purposeful governance and ensuring the delivery of democratic dividends to the people. He emphasized that the coalition was more than just a political alignment — it was a strategic response to the people’s growing demand for credible leadership, equitable development, and governance that genuinely serves the populace.
“This coalition is a response to the overwhelming call for leaders who are transparent, accountable, and committed to social justice and economic empowerment,” Nwosu stated. “We are building a people-centered democratic culture that puts citizens first and challenges the political status quo that has failed to deliver on its promises.”
With the upcoming election viewed as a critical opportunity, Nwosu described Anambra as an ideal starting point for a broader national transformation. He praised the state’s rich human capital, entrepreneurial spirit, and cultural significance, noting that its citizens deserve a government that reflects their aspirations rather than political self-interest.
The coalition’s broader mission, according to Nwosu, is to dismantle governance structures that perpetuate impunity and economic hardship, replacing them with visionary leadership supported by grassroots mobilization and strategic alliances. He stressed that this movement is not merely about winning an election, but about laying the foundation for a new kind of politics—one that works for the ordinary Nigerian.

Nwosu concluded by calling on all Nigerians who believe in a better future to rally behind the coalition’s vision. He promised that the ADC-led alliance will engage the electorate through meaningful dialogue, clear policy articulation, and strategic partnerships capable of confronting entrenched political interests and igniting a renewed wave of democratic participation across Anambra State and beyond.
