Chief Chukwuemeka Orjiakor Tells Youths Of Awka North And South To Seize Opportunity, Apply For Correctional Service, Immigration, Fire Service, Civil Defence Recruitment

The Founder of the Onwa Nibo Chukwugozili Movement and prominent stakeholder in Awka North and South Federal Constituency, Chief Chukwuemeka Nkem Pat Orjiakor, has issued a clarion call to young people across the two local government areas to seize the opportunity presented by the ongoing recruitment exercise into four key federal paramilitary agencies.

Chief Orjiakor made this passionate appeal during an interview with NewdayReporters in Awka on Thursday, July 3rd, 2025. Speaking on the importance of youth engagement in nation-building, he emphasized that qualified young men and women of Awka North and South must take full advantage of the recruitment into the Nigerian Correctional Service, Nigeria Immigration Service, Federal Fire Service, and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).

He pledged his unwavering support and readiness to assist interested applicants, reaffirming his commitment to being at the forefront of initiatives that are beneficial to the people of Awka North and South. According to Chief Orjiakor, empowering the youths through meaningful employment opportunities is central to achieving long-term development in the region.


Details of the Federal Recruitment Exercise

The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) is currently inviting applications from suitably qualified Nigerians for full-time appointments into the following agencies:

Nigerian Correctional Service (NCOS)

Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS)

Federal Fire Service (FFS)

Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC)

Available Positions

CATEGORY A: General Duty – Superintendent Cadre

  1. Superintendent of Corrections (CONMESS 02)

Qualification: MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery) from a recognized institution.

Agency: Nigerian Correctional Service (NCOS)

  1. Assistant Superintendent I (CONPASS 09)

Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Water Resources, or related fields), or Law (LLB, LLM) from a recognized university.

Agency: Federal Fire Service (FFS)

  1. Assistant Superintendent II (CONPASS 08)

Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) from a recognized institution.

Available across the services.


CATEGORY B: Inspectorate Cadre

  1. Inspector of Corrections (CONHESS 06)

Qualification: Registered Nurse (RN), Registered Midwife (RM), or Registered Nurse/Midwife (RNM) certification from a recognized institution.

Agencies: NCOS, FFS, NSCDC

  1. Assistant Inspector (CONPASS 06)

Qualification: National Certificate in Education (NCE) or National Diploma (ND) in a related discipline from a recognized institution.


CATEGORY C: Assistant Cadre

  1. Assistant II (General Duty) – CONPASS 04

Qualification: GCE O’Level, SSCE, or NECO with at least five (5) credits in not more than two sittings (including English and Mathematics), or

Trade Test Grade II (e.g., Motor Mechanics, Auto Electricians, etc.)

  1. Assistant III (Drivers/Artisans) – CONPASS 03

Qualification: GCE O’Level, SSCE, or NECO with at least four (4) credits in not more than two sittings, or

Trade Test Grade III (Motor Mechanics, Electricians, etc.)

Important Notes:

Applicants are only allowed to apply to one (1) of the four paramilitary agencies.

Multiple applications will lead to automatic disqualification.

Application is completely FREE.


Statutory Requirements

Applicants must be Nigerian citizens by birth.

Must possess the relevant educational qualifications.

Must be physically and mentally fit, with a Certificate of Medical Fitness from a government hospital.

Must be of good character and have no criminal convictions or financial embarrassments.

Must be aged between 18 and 35 years.

Male applicants must not be less than 1.65m in height, females not less than 1.60m.

Chest measurement for men must not be less than 0.87m.

Computer literacy will be an added advantage.

All applications must be submitted within three (3) weeks from the date of the portal opening.


Support for Governor Soludo’s Second Term Bid

Chief Orjiakor also used the opportunity to reiterate his support for Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo’s second term ambition. He urged the people of Awka North and South to unite behind the Governor ahead of the November 8th, 2025 gubernatorial election.

He recalled his earlier public endorsement of Governor Soludo in May 2025 during a grand event held in Nibo, which drew attendance from top political leaders across the state. In that endorsement, Chief Orjiakor praised the Governor’s landmark achievements in infrastructure, education, healthcare, and general good governance as compelling reasons why Anambra people should re-elect him.
