Legendary Actor, Bob-Manuel Udokwu Meets Ndi Anambra in Canada, Rallies Support for Governor Soludo’s Re-election

Veteran Nollywood actor and renowned TV host, Bob-Manuel Udokwu, who currently serves as the Special Adviser to the Governor of Anambra State on Entertainment, Leisure, and Tourism, has called on Ndi Anambra in the diaspora, particularly those residing in Canada, to rally support for the administration and re-election of Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo. This call was made during a recent engagement with Anambra indigenes in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

While addressing the enthusiastic gathering, Udokwu passionately highlighted the transformative strides being made in Anambra State under Governor Soludo’s leadership, particularly within his first three years in office. He described the governor’s performance as nothing short of remarkable, earning him the popular nickname “Olu Atu Egwu”, meaning “one who dares impossibilities.”

He emphasized the governor’s achievements in several key sectors, including: Education which is about the introduction of free education from nursery school through Senior Secondary School 3 (SS3), ensuring that no child is left behind due to financial constraints, Youth Empowerment which was about the innovative One Youth, Two Skills program, which equips young people with practical vocational and entrepreneurial skills to combat unemployment and boost productivity and Maternal and Child Health which includes the provision of free antenatal care and free delivery services for pregnant women, aimed at reducing maternal and infant mortality rates.

He also highlighted ongoing efforts in healthcare infrastructure, notably the construction of five brand-new general hospitals in Anambra North Senatorial Zone. These include: The Fegge General Hospital, Oroma-Etiti General Hospital in Anambra West, Aguleri-Otu General Hospital, Okpoko General Hospital in Ogbaru, and the general hospital in Ayamelum Local Government Area.

Udokwu further pointed to Governor Soludo’s massive infrastructural revolution, which includes the dualization and rehabilitation of major road networks such as: The Akokwa–Uga–Ekwulobia–Agulu–Nise–Amawbia Road, the Aguleri–Neni–Nnobi–Nnewi–Ozubulu Road, and the Amansea–Ebenebe–Ugbene–Ugbenu–Awba-Ofemili Road amongst several others including the new bridge in Ekwulobia.

He commended the governor’s urban regeneration efforts, especially the transformation of Okpoko, once known as the largest urban slum in West Africa into a modern, habitable environment.

Another highlight of his speech was the commissioning of the Solution Fun City, which he described as the largest leisure park in West Africa. He noted that the park not only provides recreational opportunities but also significantly boosts tourism and job creation in the state.

On the issue of security, Udokwu outlined the governor’s proactive steps to restore peace and order through the enactment of the Homeland Security Law, which led to the establishment of the Operation “Udo Ga Achi” security architecture. He praised Governor Soludo’s crackdown on criminal elements, including native doctors implicated in preparing “Oke Ite” (money ritual charms), and commended his firm stance against “wealth without enterprise.” He encouraged Ndi Anambra to support these efforts in building a safer and more productive society.

Following his presentation and video highlights showcasing the governor’s projects and reforms, the Ndi Anambra community in Calgary expressed deep admiration for Governor Soludo’s achievements. They particularly applauded his impact in healthcare, education, security, and youth empowerment.

The community also made passionate appeals to the Governor to expand the One Youth, Two Skills initiative to accommodate more beneficiaries and to enhance the inclusion of women in governance. They concluded by expressing eagerness to host Governor Soludo in Canada and looked forward to his visit, assuring him of their warm reception
