No fewer than 21 players have arrived at the Super Eagles’ training camp in Ikenne-Remo, Ogun State

No fewer than 21 players have arrived at the Super Eagles’ training camp in Ikenne-Remo, Ogun State, as preparations kick off for the 8th African Nations Championship (CHAN) scheduled for 2025.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the Super Eagles B squad began their training sessions on Monday at the Remo Stars Sports Institute. This comes after Head Coach Eric Chelle unveiled a 35-man provisional list of home-based players invited to camp ahead of the continental tournament.

Super Eagles Media Officer, Promise Efoghe, confirmed to NAN that the team’s first training session was held under floodlights at 7 p.m. on Monday, with 21 players in attendance. The remaining 14 invited players are expected to join the camp on Tuesday.

Among the 21 early arrivals were:

Remo Stars: Nduka Junior, Adedayo Olanipekun, Sadiq Ismail, Tochukwu Michael, Sikiru Alimi, Hadi Haruna, and Kayode Bankole

Ikorodu City FC: Harrison Austin, Shola, Ayomide Cole, and Leonard Ngenge

Rivers United: Abdulrafiu Taiwo, Taofeek Otaniyi, Ani Henry, Egbe Stephen, and Aniekeme Okon

Shooting Stars: Lawal Mustapha

Plateau United: Temitope Vincent

Kwara United: Nurudeen Badmos and Afeez Bankole

Enyimba FC: Atule Joseph

Nigeria, who were runners-up at the CHAN 2018 edition, have been drawn into Group D of the 19-nation tournament. They will compete against defending champions Senegal, as well as Sudan and Congo.

The Super Eagles will face both Senegal and Sudan at the Amman Stadium on Zanzibar Island, while their final group stage fixture against Congo will be played at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
