Sanwo-Olu, APC Leaders Rally Support Ahead of July 12 LG Elections

As Lagos State gears up for the highly anticipated Local Government Elections scheduled for Saturday, July 12, key figures in the All Progressives Congress (APC), including Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Deputy Governor Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, and party chieftains, have declared unwavering confidence in the party’s ability to clinch victory across all 20 Local Government Areas (LGAs) and 37 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs).

During a vibrant Lagos Central Senatorial District Mega Rally held at Compos Mini Stadium in Ajele, Lagos Island, Governor Sanwo-Olu, represented by his deputy, Dr. Hamzat, encouraged residents to come out in large numbers to vote for APC candidates. He emphasized that the local council elections are critical to the continued delivery of grassroots development across the state.

“We are building roads, hospitals, and schools. We are a party of the people, and we are delivering on our promises. Let us go out, support our candidates, and energize our base,” he urged.

Governor Sanwo-Olu reiterated the significance of the upcoming elections, noting that the outcomes would directly impact the pace and quality of development at the grassroots level. He further emphasized that the APC remains the most credible political platform to sustain progress, pointing to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration as a beacon of transformative national leadership.

APC Lagos State Chairman, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, also addressed party supporters at the rally, calling on them to mobilize their families, friends, and neighbors to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and vote massively for the APC.

He lauded the party’s legacy of infrastructure and social development across the state, stating, “We are the party of progress. Our achievements in building roads, schools, health centers, and bridges in Lagos are unmatched anywhere in Nigeria.”

Ojelabi cautioned against supporting opposition parties, whom he labeled as “enemies of progress” lacking the vision or commitment to deliver meaningful change. He also praised President Tinubu for approving the creation of the 37 LCDAs, describing the move as a catalyst for accelerated development across Lagos.

With the countdown to the polls underway, APC leaders are intensifying efforts to secure widespread voter turnout and consolidate their hold on local governance in the state.
