Anambra APC governorship aspirant, Nicholas Ukachukwu, has fired back at Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, accusing him of speaking against his person and his party. In a short video circulating online, Ukachukwu drew a sharp comparison between himself and the Governor, claiming that Soludo’s financial and academic achievements cannot be compared to his own personal worth and accomplishments.
He challenged the Governor to make public his account balance prior to his appointment as Central Bank Governor and as an Adviser to the President. According to Ukachukwu, if Soludo’s total assets and cash holdings at that time, including all properties amounted to even one percent of what Ukachukwu had earned, he would willingly withdraw from the forthcoming governorship race.
Ukachukwu went further to dismiss Soludo’s record as an employer of labour, claiming that the Governor has “never created any job all his life,” not even in his current role as Governor of Anambra State. In contrast, Ukachukwu portrayed himself as a “world-class employer of labour,” stressing that he has generated numerous employment opportunities in the state and beyond, including hiring people of high academic standing, “even professors like Soludo.”
“A man who has never employed anybody all his life is challenging a world-class employer of labour like me,” Ukachukwu remarked.
Taking a jab at the Governor, Ukachukwu declared that if he wins the upcoming November election, he would offer Soludo a position in one of his companies, either in Nigeria or abroad. He emphasized that their personal friendship is the only reason he would extend such a “favour” to the Governor after defeating him.
