The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has lauded President Bola Tinubu for appointing Ms. Derinsola Abiola, daughter of the late Chief MKO Abiola, as the new Director-General of the Citizenship and Leadership Training Centre (CLTC).
In a statement issued by its National Public Relations Officer, Comrade Adeyemi Samson Ajasa, NANS described the appointment as “a round peg in a round hole,” noting that Ms. Abiola’s competence, dedication, and track record make her a perfect fit for the role.
According to the association, before her elevation, Ms. Abiola served as the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Citizenship and Leadership, where she exhibited unwavering focus and commitment to national development, civic responsibility, and youth empowerment. Her tenure in that capacity, NANS noted, was marked by initiatives that promoted responsible citizenship and leadership among Nigerian youth.
“This new appointment,” the statement read, “is a reflection of her excellent service record and the trust President Tinubu has in her ability to deliver. We believe her leadership at the CLTC will further expand her capacity to drive positive change and achieve remarkable results.”
NANS urged Ms. Abiola to remain steadfast, focused, and committed to her duties, assuring her of the association’s full support for programmes aimed at fostering youth leadership, national unity, and civic responsibility.
The association concluded by congratulating Ms. Abiola on the milestone and wishing her success in her new role.
