The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.) has announced the appointment of two highly experienced professionals, Mr. Andy Odeh and Mrs. Morenike Adewunmi, to spearhead its Corporate Communications and Relations functions. The move is part of the company’s renewed strategy to enhance stakeholder engagement, strengthen public trust, and reinforce its brand positioning both locally and internationally.
According to a statement issued in Abuja on Tuesday, Mr. Odeh will serve as Chief Corporate Communications Officer, while Mrs. Adewunmi takes on the role of Chief Relations Officer.
Mr. Odeh, who brings over three decades of experience in communications and business administration, spent 26 years at Nigeria LNG (NLNG) where he held several leadership positions. His portfolio at NLNG included roles in corporate communications, public affairs, government relations, community relations, and regulatory compliance.
Before joining NNPC, he rose to the position of General Manager, External Relations and Sustainable Development at NLNG. During his tenure, he played a key role in managing the company’s corporate rebranding, introducing the NLNG Prize for Energy Reporting, and launching one of Nigeria’s most impactful micro-credit schemes for host communities.
Odeh is an alumnus of the University of Jos, the University of Lagos, INSEAD Business School, and the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS).
Mrs. Adewunmi, a trained lawyer with more than 25 years of industry experience, built much of her career with the Shell Companies in Nigeria (SCIN). She previously served as Regulatory Affairs Manager and Government Relations Manager, where she managed critical engagements with the Presidency, ministries, departments, and key regulatory agencies.
Her wealth of expertise in government and stakeholder relations is expected to bolster NNPC’s strategic outreach and collaboration with policymakers and industry regulators.
