Osun Artisans and Traders Rally Backing Governor Adeleke’s Second-Term Bid

Governor Ademola Adeleke’s quest for re-election has received a major boost as artisans, traders, and market women across Osun State trooped out in large numbers to stage a solidarity rally in Osogbo, the state capital.

The rally, organized under the banner of the People’s First Movement (PFM), saw enthusiastic supporters march through the streets before converging at Freedom Park. The event was attended by the governor himself, alongside his elder sister, Yeye Dupe Adeleke-Sanni, Chief of Staff Kazeem Akinleye, and Secretary to the State Government, Teslim Igbalaye.

Speaking on behalf of the group, representatives of PFM formally endorsed Governor Adeleke for another term, citing his impressive record in infrastructural development and governance.

“We stormed the streets today to demonstrate our solidarity with the good works of Mr. Governor since he assumed office. We are pledging our total support for his second-term ambition and will mobilize massively for his re-election in the interest of Osun’s progress. He can count on our unwavering support in 2026,” a spokesperson said.

The group’s Coordinator, Ayoade Luqman, added:

> “Governor Adeleke has scored 100 percent in infrastructural development and has surpassed the expectations of many within just three years. That is why we are endorsing him for another term. It is unwise to change a winning team — we want him to continue his good work.”

In his response, Governor Adeleke expressed deep appreciation for the endorsement and assured the people of his determination to redouble efforts in service delivery.

“I cannot find the right words to express my joy and gratitude for this overwhelming show of support from the people of Osun. I wholeheartedly accept this endorsement and promise to continue serving diligently and honestly,” he said.

The governor emphasized that the endorsement from artisans and traders adds to a growing wave of support across the state.
“Public servants recently organized a rally of solidarity and endorsement. Farmers across the state also declared their support. Now, our artisans and grassroots stakeholders have joined in this train of confidence. This motivates us to keep working harder to deliver the dividends of democracy and good governance that our people deserve.”
