Atalanta’s CEO, Luca Percassi, has made it clear that Nigeria international Ademola Lookman will only be fully welcomed back into the squad if he demonstrates total commitment to the club.
The forward, who has been central to speculation over a possible move to Serie A rivals Inter Milan during the last transfer window, was absent from training for two weeks. This absence has left doubts about his readiness to reclaim a regular place in Gian Piero Gasperini’s side.
Percassi, speaking to journalists, acknowledged Lookman’s undeniable talent but underlined that playing for Atalanta requires unwavering focus and professionalism.
“We all know his quality, but to play for Atalanta you must be 100% focused,” Percassi stated. “When he’s ready, we will be here to welcome him with open arms.”
In recent weeks, concerns have been raised about Lookman’s approach in training. Head coach Ivan Juric has also reinforced the stance that no player will be begged to return, signaling that discipline and dedication remain the core values of the club.
