Obidient Movement Backs LP’s George Moghalu as Morris Monye Leads Delegation

Labour Party (LP) governorship candidate in Anambra State, Dr. George Moghalu, has gained significant momentum in his campaign following a major endorsement from the Obidient Movement.

The Director of Mobilization of the Movement, Morris Monye, who was instrumental in galvanizing grassroots support for Peter Obi during the 2023 presidential election, led a large delegation of Obidients to Moghalu’s campaign headquarters in Awka over the weekend.

During the visit, Monye reaffirmed the group’s commitment to advancing candidates with integrity and vision. He noted that the Obidient Movement’s support for Moghalu is anchored on his track record of competence, accountability, and his people-centered approach to governance.

“The Obidient Movement stands for good governance, transparency, and development. Dr. Moghalu reflects these ideals, and we believe he is the kind of leader Anambra needs to restore governance to the people,” Monye said.

In addition to the campaign visit, Monye and his team also engaged with the state’s Obidient collegiate leadership in a series of strategic discussions aimed at boosting grassroots mobilization for the upcoming election.

Since emerging as a strong youth-driven political force in 2023, the Obidient Movement has continued to wield significant influence across Nigeria. In Anambra, its widespread presence in both urban and rural communities is expected to play a decisive role in shaping the outcome of the governorship race.

Political observers suggest that this endorsement could serve as a major boost for the Labour Party, as it prepares for one of the most competitive governorship elections in recent history.
