On Wednesday, June 5, the Kaduna State House of Assembly received a report from an ad hoc committee that had been investigating the finances, loans, and contracts awarded during former Governor Nasir El-Rufai’s administration.

The report accused the former governor and several of his commissioners of financial misconduct.

According to the report, N423 billion of state resources were allegedly misappropriated during El-Rufai’s tenure.

The House has urged the current Governor, Uba Sani, to refer the former governor and former commissioners of finance to relevant security agencies for further investigation.

The chairman of the ad hoc committee, who is also the Deputy Speaker of the House, Henry Magaji Danjuma, presented the report during the plenary session on Wednesday.

He stated that many of the loans taken out during El-Rufai’s administration were not utilized for their intended purposes, and in some cases, the proper procedures were not followed when securing these loans.
