ADC National Chairman Ralph Nwosu: “2027 Will Be a Pivotal Moment – Coalition Building Underway, Atiku Welcome, Obi Has Options”

In a revealing interview, Chief Ralph Okey Nwosu, the National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), shared insights on the upcoming Anambra governorship election, the 2027 presidential race, and the role of coalition politics. He emphasized the failure of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), stating that hunger, poverty, and insecurity have swept across Nigeria under their leadership. Nwosu believes that defeating President Tinubu is not only possible but inevitable with a united opposition.

He revealed that the ADC is working strategically behind the scenes for the Anambra election and the broader 2027 goal, comparing their efforts to a well-orchestrated symphony. The party is preparing for its National Convention, where Nwosu plans to step down to make room for new leadership, signaling a transition phase for ADC.

Nwosu affirmed that the ADC is in serious coalition talks with various groups, including youth movements, civil society, and smaller parties like PRP. He criticized dominant parties for their reliance on power and money, calling for a values-driven political realignment.

When asked about working with Atiku Abubakar or Peter Obi, he confirmed Atiku would be welcomed if he joins ADC, citing his experience and national reach. While he acknowledged ADC’s past support for Obi, he expressed confidence in the party’s ability to win in 2027 with or without any political heavyweight.

He dismissed internal APC alignments and power plays, asserting that the real political wave is shifting toward a citizens’ movement rooted in integrity, inclusion, and innovation. ADC, he said, is ready to reset Nigeria’s trajectory.
