In a show of unwavering commitment to Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo’s reelection campaign, the Founder of the Onwa Nibo Chukwugozili Movement, Chief Chukwuemeka Nkem Pat Orjiakor, hosted a high-powered political gathering of Awka North stakeholders at his palatial residence in Nibo, Awka South Local Government Area. The event marked a significant mobilization effort aimed at galvanizing full-scale support for Governor Soludo’s second-term bid ahead of the November 8, 2025, governorship election in Anambra State.
This stakeholders’ event comes on the heels of Chief Orjiakor’s public endorsement of Governor Soludo, citing the governor’s transformative achievements, especially in infrastructure and social development. Orjiakor particularly praised Soludo’s ongoing efforts to integrate Awka North into the state’s development matrix through strategic road construction and connectivity.
Calls for Soludo’s Re-election Based on Performance
While addressing the gathering, Chief Orjiakor urged all political leaders, stakeholders, and grassroots mobilizers from Awka North to come out en masse and ensure the victory of Governor Soludo at the polls. He emphasized that the people of Awka North have benefitted immensely from the Soludo administration, and therefore have compelling reasons to return the governor to office.
According to him, one of the most impactful projects in the region is the newly completed Amansea–Awba Ofemili Road, which traverses several key communities including Ebenebe, Ugbene, and Ugbenu. “This road,” Chief Orjiakor noted, “has not only improved mobility but has also opened these long-neglected communities to real estate investments and economic growth.”
He also highlighted the significance of the road project linking Achalla, the Local Government Headquarters of Awka North to other parts of the council area. He described the previous situation as “a logistical nightmare,” where residents had to pass through multiple LGAs like Awka South, Dunukofia, and Oyi just to reach their headquarters. “Governor Soludo has corrected this anomaly with a direct, accessible road, bringing relief to our people and strengthening the unity of our local government,” he stated.
Appreciating Soludo’s Broader Impact
Chief Orjiakor further underscored several other policy interventions by the Soludo-led government, including:
Free education across public schools, Free antenatal and delivery services for pregnant women, Recruitment of over 8,000 teachers to strengthen the public education system, Employment of more than 1,000 healthcare workers, Empowerment of over 5,000 youths under the “One Youth, Two Skills” initiative.
“These are not just numbers; they are life-changing policies from a government that is working. Many of our youths, including some of our relatives, have been empowered. The least we can do is to return this good man for a second term,” he declared.
Incentives for Political Mobilization
In a bold move to motivate political mobilization, Chief Orjiakor announced a ₦500,000 reward for any ward in Awka North that delivers at least a 100-vote margin in favour of APGA and Governor Soludo during the November 8th gubernatorial election.
In addition, he pledged to sponsor one child per ward on a full scholarship through his foundation, as a complementary effort to support the educational policies of the Soludo administration.
Interest in Legislative Office
In what many described as a well-received political declaration, Chief Orjiakor also informed the gathering of his desire to contest for the House of Representatives seat representing Awka North and South Federal Constituency. His announcement was met with loud applause and chants of support from party faithful and community stakeholders present at the event.
Track Record of Silent Philanthropy and Party Support
Beyond his public gestures, Chief Orjiakor was acknowledged for his consistent, behind-the-scenes financial support for APGA across Awka North and South. For the past 4 to 5 years, he has reportedly funded several party activities and provided stipends to party executives without seeking public recognition.
As a testament to his commitment to grassroots empowerment, he also donated ₦500,000 to Mr. Raphael Umeadi, the APGA Ward Chairman of Nibo Ward 3, to support and grow his personal business.
The stakeholder event witnessed the attendance of key political and community figures including the APGA chairman and secretary of Awka North, ward chairpersons, youth and women leaders, religious and traditional rulers, government officials, and past appointees. The broad turnout and enthusiastic participation reaffirmed Chief Orjiakor’s standing as a unifying political figure across Awka North and South.
A United Front for Soludo
As the political tempo rises in Anambra State ahead of the governorship election, the event in Nibo sends a strong signal of solidarity from Awka North and South. Under the charismatic leadership of Chief Chukwuemeka Orjiakor, the two LGAs appear poised to form a united political bloc in support of the incumbent Governor, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo.
With such robust groundwork already in motion, many observers believe that APGA’s chances in Awka North and South have received a formidable boost, one rooted in gratitude, infrastructure, empowerment, and grassroots loyalty.
