Kaduna Info Commissioner Hails APC’s By-Election Victory as Testament to Governor Uba Sani’s Leadership

The Kaduna State Commissioner for Information, Malam Ahmed Maiyaki, has described the All Progressives Congress (APC)’s triumph in the Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency by-election as a clear reflection of Governor Uba Sani’s inclusive and people-oriented style of governance.

Addressing journalists shortly after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared the official results, Maiyaki noted that the APC’s victories in Chikun/Kajuru, as well as in Zaria Kewaye and Basawa State Assembly constituencies, were strong indicators of the growing public trust and confidence in the current administration.

He described the win as both “historic and symbolic,” pointing out that the Chikun/Kajuru constituency had long resisted the APC’s advances until the recent breakthrough.

According to the results announced by INEC, the APC polled 34,580 votes to defeat its closest rival, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which secured 11,491 votes. The African Democratic Congress (ADC) recorded 3,477 votes, while the Social Democratic Party (SDP) garnered 142 votes.

Maiyaki attributed the landslide to Governor Sani’s grassroots-driven policies, which include massive investments in road construction, healthcare delivery, educational development, and sustained efforts to improve security across the state.

“The people have spoken — they want progressive leadership,” Maiyaki said. “This outcome shows that Kaduna residents have faith in the governor’s inclusive governance style.”

The Commissioner further stressed that the victory not only consolidated the APC’s presence in new territories but also positioned the party more firmly ahead of the 2027 general elections.

“Chikun and Kajuru are no longer opposition strongholds. With this win, the APC has deepened its roots, and its grip on Kaduna’s political future is becoming stronger by the day,” he added.
