“I Don’t Hate Women” – Comedian GehGeh Responds to Backlash

Nigerian comedian and skitmaker, GehGeh, has addressed the wave of criticisms trailing his style of commentary on relationships, particularly his frequent jokes involving women.

Some social media users had accused him of promoting a negative mindset among men, with claims that his content encourages them to dislike women.

In response, GehGeh took to X (formerly Twitter) to set the record straight, insisting that his comedy should not be mistaken for hatred or bias.

> “The fact say I dey talk about women no mean say I no like women ooh Nigerians,” he wrote. “If your girlfriend give me doggy, I go collect 💯🦾.”

His reaction followed reports that more than 20,000 people joined an online space where he spoke extensively to men about managing their finances and relationships.

Despite the controversy, GehGeh emphasized that his brand of comedy is his own way of connecting with Nigerians. According to him, his satire is not malicious but a form of “giving back” to his audience.

In a separate post, he wrote:
“So Nigerians, na bad thing to give back to the country? So na because of me APC government no take una serious for the country eeehn Nigerians. All I’m doing is giving back to my people and I’ll never stop.”
