A passenger train traveling from Abuja to Kaduna derailed on Tuesday morning, leaving several coaches toppled and causing panic among those on board.
The incident occurred at Asham, shortly after the train departed Abuja around 9:45 a.m. Eyewitnesses recounted chaotic scenes as alarmed passengers rushed to safety in the midst of confusion and fear.
The exact cause of the derailment has not yet been determined. Authorities have also not released any official information on possible casualties or the number of people injured.
Military personnel were swiftly deployed to the location to assist with the evacuation of stranded passengers and to restore order at the site.
