Osun APC Blasts Adeleke Government Over Confusion on LG Funds Case

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has criticized the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke, describing it as disorganized and directionless following its inconsistent approach to the legal battle over withheld local government funds.

The state government had initially taken the Federal Government to court over the seized funds, later withdrew the suit, and has now returned to the Supreme Court again on the same matter.

In a statement issued on Wednesday by its Director of Media and Information, Kola Olabisi, the Osun APC said the repeated back-and-forth clearly reflects a government that is “confused and rudderless.”

According to Olabisi, Osun residents can already see that the state is grappling with serious challenges under Governor Adeleke’s leadership, as most sectors have been thrown into disorder since he assumed office in 2022.

“It is astonishing that a government with the constitutional duty to uphold the rule of law is instead resorting to mudslinging, blackmail, and attempts to silence the opposition over their lawful reinstatement into local councils, while also pressuring the Federal Government and its ministers to act against the law,” Olabisi stated.

He further expressed concern that less than six weeks after abruptly discontinuing its case at the Supreme Court, the state government has now rushed back to the apex court on the same issue without presenting any new facts.

“This is clear evidence that Osun State has been thrown into a serious mess by those currently occupying the Bola Ige House,” he concluded.
