Tinubu Committed to Youth Empowerment and Education Reform

Vice-President Kashim Shettima has reaffirmed that President Bola Tinubu is firmly committed to investing in Nigerian youths and transforming the nation’s education sector.

Shettima made this known on Wednesday while receiving a delegation from the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) Nigeria, led by its Country Representative, Ms. Wafaa Abdelatef, during a courtesy visit to the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The Vice-President described UNICEF as a vital partner in Nigeria’s development journey, stressing that President Tinubu has introduced a new approach to governance and leadership in the country.

“President Bola Tinubu is a man of courage and conviction. He is doing everything possible to redefine modern leadership in Nigeria,” Shettima stated.

He further emphasized that the nation is on the path of economic regeneration and national rebuilding. According to him, ongoing reforms are already yielding results, with inflation beginning to decline and greater economic stability expected before the end of the year.

Highlighting the government’s collaboration with UNICEF, Shettima noted that Nigeria had previously worked with the organization on different programmes nationwide. He expressed optimism that the current engagement would foster fresh perspectives, wider exposure, and value addition to the administration’s efforts.

“The government remains committed to working with UNICEF to drive some of our key initiatives, including the Nutrition 774 Initiative, Economic and Financial Inclusion projects, and the Nutrition Intervention Fund,” he added.

In her remarks, Ms. Abdelatef praised Vice-President Shettima’s leadership, strong advocacy, and consistent support for humanitarian causes in Nigeria and beyond.

She commended the administration’s focus on programmes that promote nutrition, human capital development, and the education of the girl child. Abdelatef also acknowledged reforms such as the Nutrition 774 Initiative, the Nutrition Intervention Fund, and the proposed Nutrition Bill, describing the government’s vision as “clear and achievable.”
