Kwara Governor Mandate Urgent Security Reinforcement in Ekiti LGA After Fresh Attacks

Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has called for an urgent and expanded security presence in Ekiti Local Government Area, particularly around the Eruku axis, following a recent surge in attacks.

In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaiye, on Wednesday, the governor requested the immediate deployment of additional security personnel to strengthen existing operations in the area.

According to the statement, the governor strongly condemned the latest attack, describing it as unacceptable. He expressed sympathy to the residents of Eruku and neighbouring communities, especially the families and the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) members affected by Tuesday’s incident.

The statement reassured the public that the state government will continue to provide necessary support to security agencies to combat criminal activities and safeguard lives and property across Kwara.

Governor AbdulRazaq also praised President Bola Tinubu for approving the deployment of 900 additional troops to the state, noting that their presence has already contributed to improved peace in previously volatile areas.

He added that the new reinforcements will help enhance security, deter further criminal activities, and restore lasting calm throughout the state.
