The Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has extended warm birthday wishes to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar as he marks his 78th birthday, describing him as an “elder brother, boss, and elder statesman.”
In a message shared on his X handle on Tuesday, Obi praised Atiku for his long years of service to Nigeria and commended his continued engagement in national affairs despite his age.
Obi wrote:
“Special birthday wishes to an elder statesman, my very dear elder brother, boss, and elder statesman, Your Excellency Atiku Abubakar. I join your numerous admirers in wishing you the very best on your 79th birthday.”
He prayed for greater accomplishments and long life for the former Vice President, adding:
“I wish you continued success, prosperity, and an unending stream of accolades. It takes remarkable fortitude to remain active in public life well into one’s golden years. Your dedication and patriotism remain exceptional.”
Obi also encouraged Atiku to reflect on his “fruitful service to humanity,” praying for “many more healthy, fruitful, and fulfilling years ahead,” along with God’s wisdom, strength, and grace to continue contributing to peace and nation-building.
Similarly, Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, celebrated the former Vice President, acknowledging his impact on Nigeria’s development and the pride he brings to Adamawa State.
“Happy birthday to our distinguished elder statesman, Waziri Adamawa, H.E. Alhaji Atiku Abubakar. Your contributions to our nation and our dear Adamawa State remain a source of pride,” Fintiri said in his message.
He prayed for Allah’s continued blessings upon Atiku, wishing him good health, wisdom, and many more years of meaningful service to the nation and humanity.
