The Defence Headquarters has reassured parents, residents, and Nigerians that the search-and-rescue mission for the abducted students of St. Mary’s Catholic School in Agwara, Niger State, remains a top priority.
In a statement issued by Major General Michael Onoja, Director of Defence Media Operations, the military emphasized that all necessary measures are being taken to secure the safe release of the children and reunite them with their families.
According to Onoja, security agencies are working relentlessly across all fronts. He stressed that the safety of the students is of “highest national importance,” and ongoing operations are being coordinated with precision to ensure a successful outcome.
The Defence Headquarters also appealed to the media and the public to avoid spreading unverified claims or speculation that could jeopardize the rescue efforts. Community leaders and parents were encouraged to support the operation by providing credible information directly to security agencies whenever necessary.
The military reaffirmed its commitment to bringing the children home safely and restoring calm to the affected community.
