Ogun Police Tighten Security, Launch New Reporting Platform for Festive Season

The Ogun State Police Command has urged residents to remain alert and work closely with security agencies to ensure a peaceful festive celebration across the state.

Commissioner of Police Abiodun Alamutu emphasised the importance of community partnership, encouraging citizens to adopt the “See Something, Say Something” principle as a proactive step toward preventing crime. He noted that timely, credible information from the public remains vital to effective policing.

Alamutu disclosed that the Command has intensified its operational strategies and increased personnel deployment across key locations, including major highways, recreational centres, worship centres, and other public spaces to deter criminal activities during the season.

He also announced the introduction of the Gateway Shield Platform, designed to enhance security coordination and provide a fast, reliable channel for reporting concerns and general complaints.

Residents can report incidents through the toll-free line 0800 000 9111, the Gateway Shield mobile app on Play Store and App Store, or via the website thegatewayshield.com.

The commissioner assured the public that every report received through the platform will be handled promptly and professionally, adding that officers have been placed on full alert to respond swiftly to emergencies.

He further advised residents to avoid unnecessary late-night travel and to immediately report any suspicious activity to the nearest police station.

According to him, the Command remains fully committed to safeguarding lives and properties throughout the state.
