Ozoro Assault: Orette Demands Unhindered Access to Justice for Victims

An All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial aspirant for Delta South, Dr. Austin Orette, has strongly condemned the recent assault on women in Oruamudhu community, Ozoro, in Isoko North Local Government Area, describing the incident as a grave violation of human rights and a troubling reflection of moral decline in society.
In a statement titled “No to Sexual Abuse in Delta South Senatorial District,” Orette said the incident highlights the urgent need for intensified public education to eradicate harmful and barbaric cultural practices.
He criticized individuals and groups whose actions undermine peace and social cohesion within the Isoko North area, stressing that such behavior must not be tolerated in any form.
Orette called on the Delta State Government to take swift and decisive action, emphasizing its responsibility to protect citizens, particularly women and children, from abuse and exploitation.
He further denounced practices that degrade and dehumanize women in public spaces, urging community members not to ignore or normalize such acts.
“The community must not turn a blind eye to these atrocities,” he stated.
The senatorial hopeful also advocated for victims to be granted fair, unhindered access to justice, noting that accountability is critical in addressing such crimes.
According to him, the government must strengthen the rule of law by ensuring thorough investigations and the prosecution of all those involved.
“Delivering justice to victims sends a clear message of zero tolerance for such crimes and helps prevent a recurrence,” he added.
Orette also extended his sympathy to the victims, assuring them of his support while calling for collective efforts to end sexual violence in the region.
