Three Killed, Houses Burnt as Bandits Attack Niger Community

Three persons have been confirmed dead following an attack by suspected bandits on Pissa village in Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State.
The attack, which occurred around 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, also left several houses destroyed after the assailants reportedly set parts of the community ablaze.
Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the Niger State Police Command, SP Wasiu Abiodun, said security agencies received reports that armed bandits invaded the village, resulting in the loss of lives and destruction of property.
According to him, three residents were killed during the attack, while several houses were set ablaze by the attackers.
Abiodun disclosed that military personnel responded promptly to the incident and engaged the bandits. However, he noted that details of the operation and its outcome were still sketchy.
Security agencies are expected to provide further updates as investigations continue into the attack.
The incident is the latest in a series of security challenges affecting communities in parts of Niger State, where residents have continued to face threats from armed criminal groups.
