IBADAN — Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State on Saturday visited the victims of the recent Oriire kidnapping who are currently receiving medical care at the Nigerian Army’s 2 Division Medical Centre following their rescue.
The governor was accompanied by a senior medical officer of the Nigerian Army, Brigadier General Moses Azuoru, during the visit to the medical facility, where the rescued victims are undergoing treatment and medical evaluation after regaining their freedom.
Makinde interacted with the victims and received updates from medical personnel on their condition. He also commended the efforts of the security agencies involved in the rescue operation and the medical team providing care for the victims.
The visit underscored the state government’s commitment to the welfare and recovery of the rescued individuals, while reaffirming its resolve to work with security agencies to combat kidnapping and other criminal activities across Oyo State.
The victims remain under medical supervision as part of efforts to ensure their full recovery before being reunited with their families.
