ADC Endorses Sadiq Dasin as Interim Adamawa Chairman, Advise Members to Embrace Reconciliation

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has officially affirmed the process that led to the emergence of Barrister Sadiq Dasin as the Interim Chairman of its Adamawa State chapter, calling on party members to embrace peace and unity.

In a statement released on Tuesday by the National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, the party said the exercise, conducted on Saturday, October 25, was supervised by the National Vice Chairman for the North East and followed the approval and guidelines issued by the National Working Committee (NWC).

Abdullahi recalled that during its meeting held on October 8, 2025, the NWC resolved to establish interim executive committees in various states to manage party affairs pending further directives.

“The party, after a thorough review, has confirmed that the process held on Saturday, October 25, and overseen by the National Vice Chairman for the North East, which produced Barrister Sadiq Dasin as the Interim Chairman of the Adamawa State chapter, was conducted in full compliance with the NWC’s approval and guidelines,” the statement read in part.

The ADC urged members who participated in separate exercises to reconsider their positions and join in efforts toward peace and reconciliation. It also encouraged the new interim chairman to extend an olive branch to all stakeholders and ensure that legitimate grievances are addressed.

Reaffirming its commitment to fairness, justice, and internal democracy, the party warned that acts of indiscipline or conduct capable of undermining unity would not be tolerated.

“The party will not condone any action that could hinder the ongoing efforts to build a strong, united, and truly democratic organisation,” Abdullahi added.
