The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Cross River State has removed its embattled chairman, Alphonsus Eba, from office.
According to the state executive committee, Eba was impeached after he repeatedly refused to step down despite ongoing pressure and demands from different stakeholders within the party.
Following his removal, Ntufam Ekum Ojogu has taken over as acting chairman. He will manage the party’s affairs until a state congress is held and his appointment is officially confirmed.
Party officials explained that the action was carried out in accordance with Section 17(6) of the APC Constitution, which authorizes the State Executive Committee to appoint an acting chairman whenever a substantive chairman is removed from office.
