Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Ogbomoso zone of Oyo State have held a major unity rally, declaring their determination to deliver overwhelming votes for President Bola Tinubu and the party in the 2027 general elections.
The rally, which took place at Oja’gbo, drew a large crowd of party leaders, serving and former political office holders, and members of the Oyo State Executive Council. The event was led by the state APC Chairman, Alhaji Olaide Abass, and was widely seen as a show of renewed unity and strength within the party.
The gathering featured several prominent figures, including Senators Abdulfatai Buhari, Sarafadeen Alli, Yunus Akintunde, Ayoade Adeseun and Hosea Agboola. Others in attendance were former Oyo State First Lady and Ambassador-designate, Mrs Florence Ajimobi; former Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Chief Sunday Dare; Hon. Akeem Adeyemi; Hon. Aderemi Oseni; Hon. Olaminuwonlo Alao-Akala; Prince Williams Adeleye, alongside many other influential party leaders.
In his welcome address, Hon. Odebunmi described Ogbomoso as a historic stronghold of progressive politics, assuring supporters that the APC would intensify mobilisation and grassroots engagement to consolidate and expand its presence across the zone ahead of the 2027 polls.
Former state party chairman, Chief Akin Oke, said the APC had endured years in opposition in Oyo State and must now present a united front to reclaim power in 2027. He urged party members to put aside personal ambitions and work collectively for the success of the party.
Delivering the keynote address, Senator Teslim Folarin, Oyo State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, called on party faithful to take President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda to the grassroots. He charged members to educate voters on what he described as the administration’s competence, vision and commitment to national development.
According to him, the unity rally sent a strong signal that the APC in Oyo State is focused, united and fully aligned with the Renewed Hope Agenda.
“At the appropriate time, we will move into every ward, village and community to mobilise voters, and the result of the 2027 elections will be a clear victory for the APC,” Folarin said.
The rally also witnessed the reception of new members drawn from Ogbomoso North, Ogbomoso South, Oriire, Ogo-Oluwa and Surulere local government areas, further strengthening the party’s structure and support base across the zone.
