APGA Chairman Applaud Anambra Governorship Election as Most Transparent and Peaceful

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Mr. Sly Ezeokenwa, has lauded the just-concluded Anambra governorship election, describing it as one of the most transparent and well-organised in the state’s political history.

Speaking in Awka on Sunday while reacting to the victory of Governor Chukwuma Soludo, Ezeokenwa praised the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for conducting a free, fair, and credible election that reflected the true will of the people.

According to him, the November 8 poll marked a remarkable improvement in electoral transparency and organisation, setting a new standard for elections in the state.

“Anambra has never witnessed an election conducted with such transparency and fairness. INEC deserves commendation for a job well done,” Ezeokenwa said.

He also expressed appreciation to residents of the state for their peaceful conduct before, during, and after the polls, as well as to the media for their professionalism in covering the election process.

“I thank Ndi Anambra for their exemplary behaviour and cooperation. Their peaceful participation made the entire process smooth and credible,” he added.

The Independent National Electoral Commission had earlier declared Governor Chukwuma Soludo of APGA the winner of the election with 422,664 votes, defeating his closest rival, Chief Nicholas Ukachukwu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who polled 99,445 votes.

Prof. Edogah Omoregie, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Benin and the Returning Officer for the election, announced the results in Awka on Sunday.
