Bandits Attack Kebbi School, Kidnap 25 Schoolgirls and Kill Vice Principal

Armed bandits in large numbers, carrying advanced weapons, invaded Comprehensive Secondary School in Maga, located in Danko/Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State, late Sunday night. During the attack, no fewer than 25 female students were abducted.

According to an eyewitness, Sulaiman Abdullahi, the assailants killed the school’s vice principal and left several unidentified bodies within the school premises.

“They came in large numbers at night and started shooting wildly before forcing their way into the school,” he recounted.

By Monday morning around 8 a.m., air force jets were sighted hovering over the area, while security operatives heavily cordoned off the school environment.

The spokesperson for the Kebbi State Police Command, CSP Nafiu Abubakar, confirmed the incident, noting that a tactical team has been deployed to begin the rescue mission for the abducted students.

He further assured that every effort is being made to ensure the safety of the girls in captivity, adding that the Commissioner of Police, Bello Sani, is determined to put an end to the recurring attacks in the region.
