The National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Barrister Sly Ezeokenwa, has conveyed warm Christmas greetings to Nigerians, particularly Christian faithful, as they mark the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ. He described Christmas as a deeply significant season that underscores enduring virtues such as love, peace, sacrifice, unity, and selfless service to humanity.
In a goodwill message issued through his spokesperson, Dr. Tony Olisa Mbeki, and made available to Newday Reporters, Barrister Ezeokenwa noted that Christmas holds a sacred and central place in the Christian faith. According to him, the season offers a unique opportunity for sober reflection, thanksgiving to God, and a renewed dedication to the values that strengthen families, communities, and the nation at large. He encouraged Christians to go beyond the celebrations and consciously live out the true spirit of Christmas by fostering harmony, tolerance, compassion, and unity in their daily interactions.
The APGA National Chairman further emphasized that at a time when the nation is grappling with various social and economic challenges, unity remains Nigeria’s greatest asset. He stated that the Christmas season should serve as a unifying platform for Nigerians to rise above differences, heal divisions, deepen mutual understanding, and promote peaceful coexistence among citizens, regardless of religious, ethnic, or cultural backgrounds.
Barrister Ezeokenwa stressed that only through unity of purpose, shared responsibility, and collective determination can Nigeria successfully overcome its current challenges and build a peaceful, stable, and prosperous nation for both present and future generations.
He concluded by wishing all Christian faithful a joyful and blessed Christmas, filled with love and goodwill, while expressing hope that the season would strengthen the bonds of brotherhood across the country and inspire renewed commitment toward national development and collective progress.
