Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the “Rivers First” philosophy, stating that the mantra has continued to shape government policies and programmes since he assumed office three years ago.
In a goodwill message issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Onwuka Nzeshi, to commemorate the third anniversary of the administration, the governor said his government remains committed to prioritising the welfare and interests of Rivers people above every other consideration.
Fubara noted that the administration’s massive investment in road infrastructure was designed to link rural communities with urban centres, improve transportation, and create economic opportunities for residents across the state.
According to him, the vision of transforming Rivers State into a major investment destination informed the execution of key projects, including the Port Harcourt Ring Road, Trans-Kalabari Highway, Elele/Umudioga/Egbeda/Ubimini/Ikiri/Omoku Road, and the Ngo-Atlantic/Oyorokoto Road.
The governor also stated that his administration had continued to strengthen the education and healthcare sectors while sustaining efforts to maintain peace and security across the state.
He expressed appreciation to Rivers people for giving him the opportunity to serve, assuring residents that public resources would continue to be utilised for projects and programmes that directly impact their lives.
Fubara attributed the achievements recorded by his administration within the past three years to the cooperation, resilience, and industrious spirit of the people of Rivers State.
“What we have achieved in three years is proof that when government and citizens pull in the same direction, progress is possible,” the governor stated.
He further pledged to continue providing transparent leadership and to ensure that government projects and policies reflect the collective interests of the people.
The governor acknowledged that more work still needs to be done and called on elders, youths, women, traders, teachers, farmers, artisans, and professionals across the state to continue supporting efforts aimed at the overall development of Rivers State.
Fubara also congratulated Rivers people and Nigerians on the country’s 27 years of uninterrupted democratic rule, describing it as a sign that Nigeria’s diverse ethnic nationalities can continue to coexist peacefully and move the nation forward together.
