London Mosque to Host Funeral Prayers for Anthony Joshua’s Late Friends on Sunday

The Janaza (Islamic funeral prayer) for Sina Ghami and Abdul Latif “Latz” Ayodele, close friends and key members of boxing champion Anthony Joshua’s team, will be held on Sunday, January 4, 2026, in London.
The funeral prayer is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. at the London Central Mosque, located at 146 Park Road, London NW8 7RG. Their remains were repatriated to the United Kingdom after a fatal road accident in Nigeria claimed their lives.
In a statement released on Saturday, Boxing King Media confirmed the arrangements and expressed sympathy to the bereaved families, noting that thoughts and prayers are with their loved ones during this difficult time.
Ghami, who served as Joshua’s long-time strength and conditioning coach, and Ayodele, his personal trainer, died in a car crash on December 29, 2025. The accident occurred along the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway in Makun, Ogun State, when the Lexus SUV conveying Joshua and his team collided with a stationary truck. Joshua sustained only minor injuries.
The London funeral is expected to bring together family members, friends, and figures from the boxing community to honour the lives of the two men, who were widely regarded as instrumental to Joshua’s professional journey.
A representative of Boxing King Media described the duo as more than professional associates, saying they were deeply valued members of Joshua’s inner circle whose commitment and friendship left a lasting impact.
