Nigeria Customs Service Seme Command Records 117% Revenue Growth in 2025, Hits Highest Monthly Revenue in December

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Seme Area Command, closed the year 2025 with an impressive 117 percent increase in revenue, generating a total of N15.6 billion compared to N7.2 billion recorded in 2024.
The Command achieved its highest-ever monthly revenue in December 2025, collecting N3.63 billion in a single month.
According to a statement released by the Superintendent of Customs and Public Relations Officer at Seme Area Command, speaking on behalf of the Customs Area Controller, Wale Adenuga, the remarkable performance is largely credited to the effective implementation of the One-Stop Shop (OSS) initiative introduced by the Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi. This initiative has enhanced the Command’s coordination efforts and facilitated smoother trade processes for stakeholders.
Additionally, the Command successfully reduced the number of checkpoints along the Lagos-Abidjan corridor to just two locations approved by the Federal Government. This move has eased legitimate trade activities, minimized delays, and played a significant role in boosting revenue performance.
The statement also highlighted that the Command maintained vigorous anti-smuggling operations throughout the period. In December 2025 alone, authorities seized 685 parcels of Cannabis sativa (marijuana), 495 packs of Tramadol, and 2,000 packs of Super Power Sildenafil tablets (300mg), a high-dosage sexual enhancement drug.
These results were achieved through intelligence-led operations, increased patrols, risk profiling, and strengthened inter-agency collaboration.
