Cooking gas dealers, represented by the Nigerian Association of Liquefied Petroleum Gas Marketers (NALPGAM), are pleased with the decline in liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) prices.
They attribute this drop from N1,500 to N900 per kilogram to the government’s ban on LPG exports, which has stabilized prices domestically.
Oladapo Olatunbosun, the National President of NALPGAM, expressed gratitude to the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas), Ekperikpe Ekpo, for addressing the issue.
Ekpo assured the dealers of the government’s commitment to ensuring adequate domestic supply of LPG at reasonable prices.
He highlighted initiatives such as withdrawing taxes on gas-related imports and working to prevent LPG exports to boost domestic availability and lower prices further.
Collaborative efforts with industry stakeholders and regulatory bodies aim to address challenges and optimize the gas sector’s contribution to the economy.
