Obasanjo, Ooni Offer Prayers for Nigeria at C&S centenary celebration

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, and other eminent personalities gathered on Tuesday to pray for Nigeria’s peace, progress, and the good health of President Bola Tinubu during the Centenary Celebration of the Cherubim and Seraphim (C&S) Church of Nigeria.

The grand finale of the 100-year anniversary was held at Seraphim Land, Maba, Ogun State, featuring worship sessions, thanksgiving, and solemn reflections on the future of both the church and the nation.

Obasanjo, who was represented by his wife, Mrs. Bola Obasanjo, described the milestone as a testimony of God’s faithfulness and an opportunity for renewal in Nigeria. He referred to Seraphim Land as a holy ground, adding that the centenary signified a spiritual turning point and a time of healing for the country.

“Nigeria is blessed with abundance, a land flowing with milk and honey. It is our responsibility to continually seek God’s grace to sustain and replenish this nation,” he said.

In his message, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, emphasized the importance of unity within the church and across the country. He described the celebration as a lasting testimony to the vision of the church’s founder, Baba Aladura Moses Orimolade, urging Nigerians to reflect on the legacy they would leave behind.

“The life we live is temporary and one day will end. The question is: what will you be remembered for after your transition?” the monarch asked, calling on the faithful to pray for wisdom and good health for Nigeria’s President.

Senior Apostle Cornelius Ojelabi, the Lagos State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), highlighted the grace of unity that had kept the C&S Church together for 100 years. He expressed hope that the same spirit would spread across Nigeria, fostering peace, patriotism, and development.

Also speaking, Senior Apostle Michael Nwaokobia, Baba Aladura and Chairman of the C&S Unification Council in Delta, prayed for the emergence of a new generation of young Nigerians who would drive transformative change and uphold godly values in leadership.

The centenary celebration, according to the church leaders, was not only a moment of thanksgiving for a century of spiritual growth but also a call for renewed prayers for the nation’s stability and a brighter future.
