‘OUR PEOPLE DESERVE BETTER’ — AMB. IKEBUNWA LOTANNA CALLS FOR SUPPORT AHEAD OF NDC PRIMARIES

Ahead of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) House of Representatives primaries scheduled to hold tomorrow, frontline aspirant for Nnewi North, Nnewi South, and Ekwusigo Federal Constituency, Amb. Ikebunwa Lotanna, has passionately appealed to registered party members across the constituency to come out en masse and support his aspiration at the polls.

In a heartfelt message addressed to party faithful, supporters, stakeholders, youths, women, and lovers of good governance across the three local government areas, Amb. Lotanna said his aspiration is not driven by personal ambition or political prestige, but by a sincere desire to bring impactful, accessible, and people-oriented representation closer to ordinary citizens.

According to him, too many people within the constituency have endured years of struggling without directly feeling the impact of representation, stressing that the time has come for leadership that genuinely touches lives and restores hope to the grassroots.

“I am not stepping forward for myself alone. I am stepping forward because I believe our people deserve representation they can truly feel and proudly testify to. Representation should not exist only in speeches or newspaper headlines; it should be visible in the lives of ordinary people, in the empowerment of our youths, in the support given to struggling families, and in the opportunities created for our communities,” he stated.

The NDC aspirant noted that his manifesto contains a detailed and practical roadmap focused on addressing some of the most pressing challenges facing the constituency.

He explained that his plans cover key areas such as life-changing legislation, youth empowerment, educational support, business grants for small-scale entrepreneurs, electricity improvement initiatives, enhanced security advocacy, and environmental interventions targeted at erosion-prone areas within the constituency.

According to him, these are not mere campaign promises but carefully developed plans born out of years of listening to the concerns and realities faced daily by constituents across Nnewi North, Nnewi South, and Ekwusigo.

“I have taken time to listen to our people. I understand the pains of unemployed youths searching for opportunities. I understand the struggles of traders and small business owners trying to survive under difficult economic conditions. I understand the concerns of mothers who simply want better opportunities for their children and safer communities for their families,” he said.

Lotanna stressed that tomorrow’s primary election presents party members with a crucial opportunity to choose a candidate capable not only of winning the general election but also of delivering effective representation that will directly impact lives.

He passionately appealed to all registered NDC members and supporters to come out with their party cards and cast their votes in support of what he described as a collective movement for a better and more inclusive future.

“I humbly appeal to every registered NDC member, every supporter, every lover of good representation, and everyone who believes that our constituency deserves better to come out tomorrow and vote for me. Your vote is not just support for Amb. Ikebunwa Lotanna; it is a vote for accessible leadership, empowerment, accountability, and genuine service to the people,” he appealed.

The House of Representatives hopeful further assured party members that he possesses the competence, grassroots connection, political strength, and broad-based acceptance needed to secure victory for the NDC in the general election.

He pledged that if entrusted with the party’s ticket and subsequently elected, he would remain faithful to the confidence reposed in him and would never disappoint those who stood by him throughout the journey.

“I know the expectations are high, and I do not take your trust for granted. I am fully prepared for this responsibility, and by the grace of God, I will not disappoint anyone who believes in this vision and stands with us,” he assured.

Political observers have continued to describe Amb. Ikebunwa Lotanna as one of the most grassroots-driven and people-oriented aspirants in the race, with growing support among youths, women, professionals, traders, and community stakeholders across the constituency.

As anticipation builds ahead of tomorrow’s primaries, supporters insist that the election may ultimately shape the future direction of representation in Nnewi North, Nnewi South, and Ekwusigo Federal Constituency.
