Oyebanji Commends Tinubu for Appointing Gen. Oluyede as Chief of Defence Staff

Governor Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State has extended heartfelt appreciation to President Bola Tinubu for appointing General Olufemi Oluyede as the new Chief of Defence Staff (CDS).

General Oluyede, a native of Ikere-Ekiti, previously served as the Chief of Army Staff before his elevation to the top military position.

In a statement issued on Saturday in Ado-Ekiti by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Yinka Oyebode, Governor Oyebanji described the appointment as a commendable and well-deserved recognition of excellence. He praised President Tinubu for acknowledging the outstanding leadership qualities and integrity of the Ikere-Ekiti-born officer.

According to Oyebanji, the new CDS embodies the virtues of courage, discipline, and loyalty that define the people of Ekiti. He expressed strong confidence in Gen. Oluyede’s capacity to perform exceptionally in his new role, describing him as a dedicated and accomplished military officer.

The governor urged Oluyede to utilize his vast experience and strategic insight to strengthen the Nigerian military, particularly at this crucial time in the nation’s security history.

“The Government and the people of Ekiti State are profoundly grateful to President Bola Tinubu for this honour bestowed upon one of our own,” Oyebanji said. “We wish Gen. Oluyede great success in his new assignment and assure him of our unwavering support.”
