Shock in Ohaukwu Ebonyi State as Suspected Kidnappers Disguised as Soldiers Abduct Community Leader

An alarming incident occurred in the early hours of Thursday, sending shock waves across the Ohaukwu community in Ebonyi State. According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Joshua Ukandu, a group of unidentified men dressed in military uniforms stormed the residence of Hon. Blessing Adagba, a well-known community coordinator, around midnight.

SP Ukandu confirmed the abduction, stating that the Anti-Kidnapping Squad has since launched a manhunt to track down the perpetrators and secure the victim’s release.

“By approximately 12 a.m., a group of armed men posing as soldiers arrived at Hon. Blessing Adagba’s home,” Ukandu said. “They demanded that she open the door, but she resisted, questioning their identity and why they had come at such an unusual hour.”

The impostors, reportedly carrying firearms, eventually forced their way in, subdued Hon. Adagba, and whisked her away to an unknown destination.

Residents and local security personnel are said to be working tirelessly to facilitate her safe return. Meanwhile, community leaders have voiced growing concerns over the increasing wave of abductions in Ohaukwu. They are urging authorities to implement stronger security measures to safeguard the lives and property of citizens.

The incident has heightened fears and underscored the urgent need for proactive responses to rising insecurity in the region.
