Tinubu Arrives Plateau Over Deadly Attack, Security Heightened Ahead of Visit

The departure lounge of the Yakubu Gowon Airport, Plateau State, has been put on alert ahead of the expected visit of President Bola Tinubu to the state.
The President’s visit follows the recent deadly attack that left no fewer than 28 people dead and 22 others injured, an incident that has sparked concern across the state and the country at large.
His visit comes as Plateau gradually returns to calm after the tension and unrest that engulfed parts of the city on Tuesday.
In response to the incident, security presence has been significantly reinforced across strategic locations, particularly around the airport and other key areas, as authorities intensify efforts to maintain law and order.
President Tinubu is expected to meet with state officials, security agencies, and community leaders during the visit, with discussions likely to centre on the prevailing security challenges, support for victims and affected families, as well as measures aimed at restoring lasting peace.
Meanwhile, the state government and security authorities have called on residents to remain vigilant, law-abiding, and hopeful as ongoing efforts to sustain peace and stability continue.
